(Q) I am interested in trying a new hobby, but do I need experience in flying model aircraft first?
(A) If you are interested in trying model aircraft flying as a hobby, Mereside Model Flying Club is the ideal place to learn. With a high ratio of instructors and examiners within the club we can guide you from your first tentative flights, to taking your proficiency test and flying solo. The club has been established for around 30 years and has a wide range of members, who can advise on all areas of the hobby. 
If you are a complete beginner, come and spend a day with one of our instructors and have a trial flight with our club trainer model. It`s really not as difficult as it looks! Use the contact page or contact number at the bottom of the page and arrange your trial flight now!

(Q) What are the fees to become a member of Mereside Model Aircraft Club?
(A)  Flying Club Fees paid annually on 1st April:-

Senior Member:          £90 
Junior Member:          £25

BMFA Membership 2023 & Insurance
Seniors                       £40
Junior                         £18
Family Partner            £27
Family Junior              £14

For insurance and CAA payments, we ask that you register with the BMFA / CAA directly at https://bmfa.azolve.com

We can accept payment via bank transfer or cash, together with a printable form to a member of the committee.

Please don’t post any cash to the club! Please email the club for bank transfer instructions at john@meresidemodelclub.co.uk
By making a payment, you accept that Mereside Model Aircraft Club may send you a group members' email, with updates and requests. If you wish to opt out of this agreement, please send a separate message stating this fact, via the Contact Us page.
By submitting your membership payment for 2024, you agree to abide by the club rules and policies.

(Q) How often does Mereside Model Flying Club meet?
(A) The flying site is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, 9 am - 6 pm Monday - Saturday

and Sunday and Bank Holidays  10 am - 6 pm.

The 3 main days for the majority of our members are Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
